What it takes the be an Ethical Hacker – A journey into a technical role

Chloe is an Ethical Hacker at PwC.  Since joining the firm Chloe has taken a keen interest in Mobile Hacking, OT Hacking, Women in Cyber initiatives, and raising awareness about careers in tech.

Prior to this, Chloe completed her degree in Criminology where she obtained a First Class Honours. Her studies focus on understanding the cyber threat landscape from a criminological perspective. For example, analysing cyber-criminal profiles and what provokes individuals to commit cyber offences.

Chloe continues to explore this area in her research and development work at PwC. She is currently working on a research project as a part of the NCA’s PREVENT campaign that looks to understand pathways into cybercrime and safeguarding measures.

Chloe is passionate about raising awareness about Ethical Hacking as a career. She has attended a number of school and university events in South Wales to provide students and teachers with an insight into Ethical Hacking. Beyond this, Chloe co-presented a segment on BBC1 Wales’ X-RAY that focussed on cybersecurity within the home and how people can combat cybercrime through good practice.
